Coming to NZ on your Honeymoon and want to make the best of your time & budget? 

yes it is a dilemma trying to decide where to go and you are not the first couple who have had this problem.
Here are some questions to ask yourself
So your on your honeymoon??? rather than an ordinary holiday???? Is this right or do just want it to be an ordinary holiday.
So you'll want a trip that is relaxing but with some high points???
You'll want as little stress as possible???
You want to do some exciting stuff together???
See some great scenery but not just scenery everyday???
and I could go on but I think you and I are talking the same idea????

So I recommend you do only one island??? Oh....people initially hate this idea. They say... Oh but we want to see NZ, we need to do as much as we can fit in....
But NZ is quite big, people think because it is 2 islands you can get around it quickly. This is not true.
You can get right around NZ & have a stressful, bitchy holiday and yes you will have seen the whole place, well bits of it from the main road... briefly...and yes you can then say you've DONE NZ!!

So you need to decide on your priority.
What sort of a holiday do you really want?? You'll both need to decide that for yourselves and THEN plan a trip that meets this prime objective.. At that stage I can advise you on what to do.

I believe that New Zealand delivers the best holiday which has some adventure to it by going around the bottom half of the south island only.

If you really need to see any of the north island just do Auckland Rotorua & Taupo.
